What is Cache Memory and Levels of Cache Memory in Computer CPU:-
Cache Memory is a very fast group of memory chips which is located in or close to the CPU. Cache Memory is designed to control the speed of CPU and RAM. In fact, first of all, all input data is come from input devices to RAM and then goes to the Central Processor Unit(C.P.U)for calculation. But CPU is calculated very fast than the processing power of RAM.
How Cache works.
As we are seeing bellow diagram Cache is between CPU and RAM. Data comes from RAM and goes to Cache (Level 2) and after that data goes to the Cache (Level 3) and then goes to the Cache (Level 1) which is directly connected to the CPU.
In Cache Memory, those data is residing in this Memory which is repeatedly used by CPU. If CPU need urgent data then Cache memory gives that data.
So Cache Memory works as a bridge between RAM and CPU. Nowadays Cache Memory is built in CPU Chip Unit.
